Herbal Antibiotic

September 2, 2017

Cold and Flu season is coming! Soon they're going to start pushing the fear propaganda on the public to boost sales of that POISON they call a flu shot. I haven't had a flu shot since they were forced on me over 2 decades ago. And you know what? I don't get the flu usually. I think I've had influenza once or twice during the last couple of decades, but I always kick it to the curb very quickly. It never really stays with me more than 3 or 4 days.

As an herbalist I have many different tools in my repertoire which aren't available to modern mainstream doctors. Things long forgotten, but practiced over centuries by millions of people around the globe. Things which have never been shown to be ineffective treatments.

One time (in the last 10 years) I went to see my family doctor, and he diagnosed me with influenza. The doctor prescribed some antibiotic or another, but knowing them to be deadly poison, I told the nurse to just throw the scrip away as I had no intention of buying or taking them. I said I'd just go home, drink hot toddies all day, and bundle up to sweat it out. She laughed at me like I'd said something stupid! Ummm....people have been battling colds, flu, fevers, etc., this way for hundreds of years, dear! It is a proven effective treatment; you get the sweat going because it's the body's primary method of eliminating toxins. I grew up thinking this was common sense knowledge everyone shared, but here was a gal in the medical field who was completely clueless to it.

Anyway, one of the tools I have in my little bag of tricks is a long-forgotten, almost-never-used-in-modern-herbalism, wonder-herb. I'm talking about Bidens aristosa. That's what it's called in the Latin. Common names are derogatory ones, like "Beggar's Ticks" and "Tick Seed". And that might have something to do with its decrease in use by Herbalists. That's a sad state of affairs to me, because this plant is totally awesome! First off, it looks beautiful when it's in bloom, kind of shrubby, with lots of deep yellow daisy-like flowers all over it. Then when you harvest it, the oils produced in the plant's glands smell very nice. Then you have the benefit of its excellent medicinal properties!

Not much has been done with this plant in terms of scientific study. In fact, I only found one reference to it while scouring the internet a couple of years ago, and that wasn't from a scientific journal or publication at all. It was a reference to Herbalist Stephen Buhner's book, "Herbal Antibiotics" (2nd edition, Storey Publishing, 2012), wherein he said that Bidens aristosa has the power to act as a systemic antibiotic.* He is a well respected herbal author the world over, having come up with a protocol for healing Lyme's Disease among others.

I've put this little-known gem to work for me and my family for a couple of years now, and it has become a mainstay in my medicine cabinet. I'll never go without having a supply of it on hand, especially during cold and flu season. But there are plenty of other times when it's appropriate to take this potent herbal supplement. You could use it to treat infected wounds, topically as well as internally. Take it to prevent getting infected when treating sick patients or family members. "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," as they say. It is among the essentials in my opinion.

We carry this in our store, too. For those of you who want to experience the power of this gorgeous, little-known plant, all you need to do is click the image below! As of September 2, 2017, my current supply is very limited, so if you need it now you should hurry. But I do have a new batch being made right now, and it will be ready before "Halloween". Get yours here:
